Birthday of our heavenly mother brings with it the triple celebration- other two are namely, the feast of new corn and the day of the girl child. As in the past, due importance was given to all these three celebration at our church., especially highlighting the role of Mary in the salvation of mankind.
The faithful, specially the children gathered near the grotto for the blessing of the new corn. The children walked to the church in procession offering flowers, as all sang the hymns of praise to Mother Mary. The Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Vernon Vas, being the main celebrant gave apt homily giving equal importance to all the three aspects of the day.
Rev. Fr. Edwin F. Pinto, on behalf of the vicar thanked all the donors, Murdoms of the feast and all those who were instrumental to make arrangements for the feast. Sugarcane to all children and families was given which was sponsored by the two of the parishioners. A anonymous donor sponsored sweets to everyone attended mass. Parish Pastoral Council members and donors were honoured by vicar by giving them the new corn. The gifts offered during mass were auctioned to help out the poor families. everything came to an end by 9.45 am.
